Dorothy Hearn was in her senior year of dental school at the Medical College of Georgia in 1990. After graduation she had plans to join her father's practice. She was known for her brilliant mind and her beauty, yet on June 6, 1990, after being found in her home dead, with a single gun shot would to her head and a gun by her side, her death was ruled a suicide.
The police and family and friends were not convinced her death was a suicide and her case remained opened. It took 16 years for the truth to finally be told. In Sept. 2006, her boyfriend at the time, Dr. Barton Corbin, pleaded guilty to murdering Dorothy and also to the murder of his wife, Jennifer Corbin, on Dec. 4, 2004.
