Sheral Lee Smith, 37, was a teacher for three weeks at the at New Summit school in Jackson, MS until she was fired after being arrested and charged with statutory rape and transfer of a controlled substance.
Smith, the mother of two boys, was first arrested on September 17, 2008, but was charged a few weeks later on four additional counts of statutory rape. She is currently being held without bond.
Investigators have said that they believe Smith gave the drug Xanax to the boy.
Prior to her second arrest, Smith told news reporters that she is innocent and has nothing to worry about.
