Sarah Bench-Salorio of Orange, California taught reading and English at Santiago Charter Middle School for two years before being arrested and charged with 29 counts of lewd contact with three former students she molested.
The boys, ages 11 to 13, were students of Bench-Salorio during 2003 and 2004. The 28-year-old teacher seduced the boys over dinner, through emails and with phone calls, which eventually led to her sexually molesting them.
At the time of her arrest, Bench-Salorio was married and raising three children ages five, 10 and 14. The children were her husband's siblings and were reportedly being raised as foster children.
On September 28, 2005, she entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to six years in prison. Had she elected to go to trial, she could have received up to 64 years in prison for her crimes.
