A federal judge ignored usual sentencing guidelines and threw the proverbial book at three Florida siblings who robbed a Georgia bank during a 2011 crime spree. Senior Judge Hugh Lawson sentenced each of the "Dougherty Gang" members to 35 years and 8 months in federal prison.

The third sibling member of the "Dougherty Gang" has entered a guilty plea on charges related to a 2011 bank robbery in south Georgia. Dylan Dougherty Stanley, 27, pleaded guilty in federal court in Valdosta to charges of bank robbery and using a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The FBI launced a nationwide manhunt for three Florida siblings, who became known as the Dougherty Gang, after they shot at a police car in Zephyrhills, Florida and later the same day robbed a bank in Valdosta, Georgia. The heavily-armed trio was considered heavily armed and dangerous.
