On June 15, 2007, after not having heard from her daughter for two days, Patricia Porter, the mother of nine-months-pregnant Jessie Davis, went to her house and found her bedroom in disarray and her two-year-old son alone in the house.

The only clue as to what may have happened to Davis came from the two-year-old Blake who said: "Mommy was crying. Mommy broke the table. Mommy's in the rug."

On June 23, the body of 26-year-old Jessie Davis and her unborn child was found in a shallow grave in a national park about 25-miles from her home. The father of her two-year-old son and her unborn daughter, Canton policeman Bobby Cutts Jr., was arrested the same day and charged with two counts of murder.

An Ohio jury has voted to spare former police officer Bobby Cutts Jr. from the death penalty for the killing of his girlfriend and their unborn child. However, the judge sentenced Cutts to consecutive terms totally 57 years in prison.
