No Arrests in Celina Cass Case
July 21, 2014 - As the third anniversary of the disappearance of Celina Cass approaches, no memorial services are planned in West Stewartstown, New Hampshire, because residents said, past services have drawn so much media coverage it upset the children who are still dealing with the tragedy.
Three years into the investigation of her death, no arrests have been made and no persons of interest have been named, according to lead investigator Jane Young, director of the state attorney general's criminal bureau.
"The initial team, including myself, continues to work on this," Young told reporters. "There has not been a period of time when it's been dormant or there haven't been leads to investigate."
"When there is sufficient evidence to prove a case against an individual or individuals beyond a reasonable doubt for Celina's murder, an arrest will occur."
When Celina vanished she was living with her mother, Luisia Case; her stepfather, Wendell Noyes; her 13-year-old sister; and 22-year-old Kevin Mullaney, the son of one of Luisia's previous boyfriends.
Noyes, who has a history of psychological problems, and Mullaney were both reportedly called to testify at a grand jury looking into Celina's case, but not indictment was returned.
Noyes and Luisia separated soon after Celina's body was found. Mullaney is serving a six-year sentence for receiving stolen property, reckless conduct and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The charges are not related to Celina's case.
