In April 2002, Kitaen was arrested for spousal abuse and battery after allegedly kicking her husband, Cleveland Indians pitcher Chuck Finley, while he was driving the couple home from a restaurant. Wearing high-heeled shoes, the actor reportedly kicked Finley in the arm, leg, and thigh then stepped on his foot that was on the car accelerator. It was reported that she also twisted his ear during the attack.
