More than 100 law enforcement officers have joined the frantic search for a missing 11-year-old New Hampshire girl who was last seen using her computer in her bedroom Monday evening. Celina Cass is described as a shy 5th grader who would never run away or leave with a stranger. The FBI and more than 100 law enforcement officers have joined the effort to find Celina and the search has extended into Canada.
Because there is no evidence of any abduction at this time, no Amber Alert has been issued for Celina. As the weekend approached, investigators were examining her computer and phone records for any clues that might lead to her whereabouts.
Stepfather Has Mental Health Issues
"Until we find her, we are going to continue to scour this area," New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General Jane Young said.
Celina lives in Stewartstown, New Hampshire - one mile from the Canadian border - with her mother, stepfather and 13-year-old sister. Celina's parents have not made any public statements since she vanished July 25.
Her stepfather, 47-year-old Wendell Noyes, has in the past been diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenic and has been involuntarily committed to a hospital after violating a protection order and threatening his ex-girlfriend in 2003.
Police Seek Public's Help
But authorities have not named anyone as a suspect in Celina's disappearance.
Celina is 5-5, and 95 pounds. She has long brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt, a pink pullover, blue shorts and shoes. See FBI Poster
