I have been studying crimial justice type things for years and have two questions:

1. What is the difference between a “pychopath” and a “sociopath”. How are they similiar and how are they different?

2. Details produced under hypnosis re crimes or other abuse: how reliable are they if no other evidence exists? Is it possible that the mind will still avoid remembering something under hypnosis and come up with something else – the ultimate defense mechansim? Just wondering.

I do not believe in letting out sexual offenders out of jail. Once a sex offender , always a sex offender. Sex offenders will go back to hurting small children and woman once the law is not keeping an eye on them. Look at what happened to Jessica Lunsford.

@Julia I also agree on sex offenders never getting released from prison, and its true about the repeat or recidivism rates are high at a 95% rate AND thesea crimes committed toward victims are at a 85% rate of their offenders being a family member or friend!

you mentioned only women and children as being targets of sex offenders. you forgot to mention men as well. Gay men are threatened by sex offenders as well as men in prison. sex offenders, bestiality, pedophiles, child predators, have different meanings to these titles.

I have tried different times to look up sex offenders but [web sight] is asking for payment to accese these files, I thought it was to be public record AND free , to better help [espically ] our children. ?

Hi Junebug,

I’m not sure where you are looking, but it should be free. Ignore the sites that charge money.

Here you will find a list of states with the appropriate links to the state run sex offender databases.

I hope this helps.
