Two Georgia women who became known as the "Barbie Bandits" have been sentenced for their part in the $11,000 robbery of grocery store bank branch office on Feb. 27, 2007 in Acworth, Georgia. One of the former strippers was sentenced to serve two years in jail, but the other received a probation-only sentence.

Ashley Miller, who was convicted of theft and drug distribution charges, was sentenced to the maximum of 10 years, but only has to serve two years in prison. She also must pay $2,500 in restitution. Miller had marijuana and a large quantity of ecstasy pills on her when she was arrested.

Heather Lyn Johnston, who plead guilty to robbery and drug charges last August, was sentenced to 10 years probation with community service. She will also have to pay a $2,000 fine and pay $2,500 in restitution.

Benny Herman Allen III, the bank teller who came up with the plan to rob the bank branch where he worked, was also sentenced to 10 years but will serve only five years in prison and pay $2,500 in restitution.

The media dubbed the two then 19-year-old robbers the "Barbie Bandits" after a bank videotape of the robbery showed the two blondes wearing designer sunglasses and giggling during the hold-up.

The two were arrested March 2, 2007 in a vehicle driven by convicted felon Michael Darrell Chastang. Police found marijuana in the car and ecstasy pills on Miller. Investigators said Miller and Johnston, who were working in a strip club at the time, planned to split the money with Chastang and Allen.

Chastang will be sentenced later.

Who said jutice was blind? It’s very clear justice sees and makes a clear difference in black and white. The whites who committed the robbery were given a cute name and a joke of a sentence. Oh but the black man who “planned” the robbery received double the jail time.

Wonder if the story would change if they were the Chrissy (Barbie’s black friend) Bandidts?

Must be nice to be a Barbie!

it is not really hard to tell who they were and it was only a matter of time before they were going to be caught and arrested for robbing that bank

Beauty fades but stupid is forever. I’m surprised these losers survived as long as they did.
