Charles' Crime / Punishment Blog'Barbie Bandits' Sentenced for Bank Robbery Two Georgia women who became known as the "Barbie Bandits" have been sentenced for their part in the $11,000 robbery of grocery store bank branch office on Feb. 27, 2007 in Acworth, Georgia. One of the former strippers was sentenced to serve two years in jail, but the other received a probation-only sentence.
Benny Herman Allen III, the bank teller who came up with the plan to rob the bank branch where he worked, was also sentenced to 10 years but will serve only five years in prison and pay $2,500 in restitution. The media dubbed the two then 19-year-old robbers the "Barbie Bandits" after a bank videotape of the robbery showed the two blondes wearing designer sunglasses and giggling during the hold-up. The two were arrested March 2, 2007 in a vehicle driven by convicted felon Michael Darrell Chastang. Police found marijuana in the car and ecstasy pills on Miller. Investigators said Miller and Johnston, who were working in a strip club at the time, planned to split the money with Chastang and Allen. Chastang will be sentenced later.
