Judge Rejects Lawsuit Against Kalpoe Brothers
Superior Court Judge Charles C. Lee has thrown out a lawsuit filed by the parents of Natalee Holloway in Los Angeles against Deepak and Satish Kalpoe of Aruba. The judge said the lawsuit could not be filed in Los Angeles because the case has no connection to California and the courts have no jurisdiction over the Kalpoes.
Beth Twitty and Dave Holloway filed the suit in Los Angeles after the Kalpoe brothers filed a lawsuit there against a television program for airing what they claim was a doctored video interview.
John Q. Kelly, attorney for Holloway's parents, said at the time the Kalpoe's filing put them under the jurisdiction of the California courts. He said they may appeal the judge's ruling.
"There are all kinds of promising issues," Kelly said.
Meanwhile, the second anniversary of Natalee's disappearance came May 31 with still no formal charges being filed in the case and still no real evidence surfacing that a crime has been committed.
