Second Dancer: Duke Allegations a 'Crock'
The second dancer at the Duke lacrosse team party told police when she was first interviewed that rape accusations made by the other stripper were a "crock" and she was with her the entire evening, except for five minutes, according to motions filed by the attorney for one of the accused players.
When she was first contacted by Durham police, about one week after the off-campus party, Kim Roberts denied that any gang rape took place, according to a motion filed by Reade Seligmann's attorney.
The motion asks that the photo lineup used to identify the three Duke players accused of rape be thrown out because police omitted contradicting accounts of the accuser's story when they obtained a court order to photograph and take DNA samples from the lacrosse team members.
The motion filed by Seligmann's attorney revealed several undisclosed details of the investigation:
- The accuser told one medical examiner she drank at least 44 ounces of beer, and told another she took a powerful muscle relaxant and drank beer before going to the March 13 party.
- The accuser had sex with at least four men and used a sex toy to perform for another party prior to going to the Duke lacrosse party.
- A medical examination of the accuser showed no signs of the sexual or physical attack she described, according to the motion.
- Two doctors said the accuser complained only of vaginal rape, although the charges against the Duke players mentions oral and anal penetration.
- The accuser told one physician that she was not hit and she did not complain of any pain. She told a nurse she was not choked, the motion said.
- At one point, the accuser told investigators that the second dancer at the party assisted in her rape and stole her money.
