Seattle Seeks Motive in 'Zombie Rave' Killings
Authorities in Seattle and the community itself are searching for clues to why a 28-year-old "very polite" pizza deliveryman walked into after-rave house party with a shotgun, a handgun and 300 rounds of ammunition and shoot six people dead.
Aaron Kyle Huff attended a "Zombie Rave" party Friday night and was invited to a home party after the rave, police said. He left the party around 7 a.m. and returned with a sawed-off shotgun, a handgun and two bandoliers filled with ammunition. He killed six people before a policeman arrived on the scene and he turned to shotgun on himself.
Huff lived in the Seattle area in an apartment with his twin brother and worked delivering pizzas. The two were described by the manager of the apartments as "twin teddy bears," and "the kindest, sweetest, gentlest people."
However, authorities said when Huff returned to the party Saturday morning, he wrote "NOW" on the sidewalk in front of the house with orange spray paint and opened fire, first killing two people on the front porch then moving inside where four others were killed.
Dead are Melissa Lynn Moore, 14; Suzanne Thorne, 15; Christopher Williamson, 21; Justin Schwartz, 22; Jeremy Robert Martin, 26 and Jason Travers, 32.
Police said the shooting spree was premeditated, but they had many questions concerning any possible motive for Saturday's incident. "We may be asking these questions over the next year or two," Deputy Seattle Police Chief Clark Kimerer told a news conference. "Hopefully we will find some answers."
Kimerer said Huff's twin was not involved in the shootings, but may help police determine a motive.
