Leif Garrett Busted for Heroin Possession
Leif Garrett, who was a singing "teen idol" in the 1970s, was arrested for trying to ride a Los Angeles subway without buying a ticket and was found to be in possession of heroin by sheriff's deputies.
L.A. County deputies spotted Garrett on the platform of the Pershing Square Red Line station without a ticket to ride. They searched the 44-year-old former singer and found suspected narcotics.
Garrett was being held without bail because he is currently on probation for possession of cocaine. He pleaded guilty to the charge in March 2005.
Garrett released 10 albums and appeared in 36 movies in the 1970s and 1980s.
