Remains Identified as Dylan Groene's
The location of the remote western Montana camp site was discovered after eight-year-old Shasta was spotted by a waitress in a Denny's restaurant less than 10 miles from the site of the murders. Investigators interviewed Shasta and collected evidence from the vehicle in which she was riding to find the location.
Arrested was Joseph Edward Duncan III, who is charged with kidnapping. Authorities believe the 42-year-old registered sex offender killed the children's family specifically so that he could abduct the two youngsters for sex. Officials said, although the attack on the family appeared to be random, it was carefully planned and executed.
