'Ground Zero' Coins Are Fakes
In seeking a court order to temporarily stop the sale of the Sept. 11 commemorative coins, Spitzer pointed to false advertising claims for the coins, including claims that there are made of pure silver and could be used as U.S. currency.
"This product has been promoted with claims that are false, misleading or unsubstantiated," Spitzer said in a statement. "It is a shameless attempt to profit from a national tragedy."
Spitzer said the coins, which sell for $19.95 each, were silver-plated, not solid silver. His office is also investigating whether or not the silver used to plate the coins actually came from the Ground Zero site.
The coins are marketing by National Collector's Mint of Port Chester, New York.

You know this is just messed up. Because alot of people like myself purchased these coins.I purchased them to pass on to my children as a part of history. So now what am I suppose to tell them that the U.S.Gov. Allows corporations to lie in order to make a profit off the deaths of American People. And that is why they have the coins. So here keep them and be proud of the country you live in.And it’s Government of Untruth.
I was ripped off too, and found out alot about these coins. They are worthless, and have no value. I paid 29.99 per coin and they are worth 2.00 per. Go figuer. No Gold No Silver And Are Clad with more beer can metal then you can believe.NO VALUE WHAT SO EVER. WE HAVE BEEN LIED TOO, Let’s Sue them!!!
