On October 30, 1975, Martha Moxley, age 15, attended a neighborhood Halloween party at friends Thomas and Michael Skakel's home (nephews of Ethel Skakel Kennedy), but never returned home. The next day her body was under a tree in her family's backyard. She had been stabbed and bludgeoned with a golf club which belonged to the Skakel family.
It was not until 2002 that justice would be served and her murderer was finally convicted.
