Mark Lunsford was a simple man. He enjoyed riding his harley and hanging out with local friends and family. All of that changed after his daughter Jessica was found dead. She had been kidnapped out of her bed, held captive and sexually abused by a convicted pedophile. He then placed her in a trash bag and buried her alive.
Weeks after her death Lunsford began his pursuit for new legislation to provide more stringent tracking of released sex offenders. The "Jessica Lunsford Act" was named after her. It requires tighter restrictions on sex offenders and increased prison sentences for some convicted sex offenders.
