Laci Denise Peterson and her unborn son Conner Peterson disappeared sometime between Dec. 23 and Dec. 24, 2002. Their badly decomposed remains washed ashore in April 2003, not far from where Laci's husband, Scott Peterson said he went on a solo fishing trip the day she vanished.
Scott Peterson, who was involved in an extramarital affair at the time of Laci's disappearance, was later convicted of murdering his wife and son, because according to the prosecution, he did not want to give up his lifestyle to be tied down to a wife and baby.
