Melissa Michelle Deel, 32, of Bristol, Tenn., taught eighth grade ancient world history and contemporary issues before being arrested and charged for felony carnal knowledge and taking indecent liberties with a child.
Deel pleaded guilty to driving from Tennessee to Virginia and then engaging in oral sex with the 13-year-old victim while in her car outside the boy's home.
She was sentenced to a year and two months and is required to register with the state as a sex offender when released.
