Mary Kay Letourneau is a former elementary school teacher who served seven and a half years in prison after she was convicted of raping her sixth-grade student, Fualaau, who is now the father of her two youngest children. She first received a probated sentence, which was revoked when she refused to stay away from the victim, who was still a teenager at the time.
The case gained attention because Letourneau was a wife, mother and teacher at the time of her first arrest and pregnant with Fualaau's child. She also refused to follow the court order of not having any contact with the victim and voiced her undying love for the child.
After she was released from prison, Letourneau, 43, and Fualaau, 22, exchanged vows that they wrote themselves at the Columbia Winery in Woodinville, Washington, about 20 miles northeast of Seattle.
