Julie Petty, 36, of White Bluff, Tennessee, worked as a softball coach and substitute teacher at William James Middle School prior to her arrest for sexual battery and statutory rape.
Petty was accused of touching a 14-year-old female eighth grade student in an inappropriate way.
In a plea deal, Petty pleaded guilty to sexual battery by an authority figure. The statutory rape charge was dropped. She could be sentenced to up to six years in prison for her crimes.
