Amberlee Evonne Meeker, 28, of Palm Coast, Florida was working as an elementary school teacher in Volusia County when she was arrested on January 5, 2012 for alleged sex crimes with children in North Carolina.
Meeker was arrested on charges of indecent liberties with a child, soliciting a child by computer or certain other electronic devices to commit an unlawful sex act, disseminating obscene material to a minor under 16 and preparing photographs of self/other to prepare obscene film/photo/slide.
Coordinated efforts by the Archdale City Police Department, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the Flagler County Sheriff's Office in Florida led to Meeker's arrest and extradition to Randolph County, North Carolina where the alleged crimes took place.
Until her resignation Meeker was employed as a teacher by Volusia County since 2005.
