In December 2001, 27-year-old Amber Denise Williams, as part of a plea agreement, pleaded guilty to three counts of taking indecent liberties with a child and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Williams, a former North Carolina school psychologist, was living with the family of one of her victims and kept a diary, which was discovered by the parent. Based on the contents of the diary, authorities were alerted and an official investigation of Ms. Williams followed.

In the original criminal charge against Williams, she allegedly got her victim(s) intoxicated and took advantage of them.

Williams was sentenced to a five-month prison sentence and five years of probation, ordered to pay $280 a month to each of the victims treatments they might require, ordered to register as a sex offender and not be alone with a minor or live with a minor under the age of 18. She was also required to surrender her school psychologist credentials.
