The Charges:
Receiving Child Pornography
The Case:
Washington State Patrol's High Tech Computer Crimes Unit detected a computer sharing child pornography over the Internet and served a search warrant on the home of Richard Parham in July 2008. They found several computers, hard drives and other electronic storage devices that contained more than 600 videos of child pornography. Some of the videos were of children under 6 years old.
The Conviction:
In June 2010, Parham pleaded guilty to the charge of receiving child pornography.
The Sentence:
Richard Parham was sentenced to serve five years in prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release. He will also have to register a sex offender for the remainder of his life.
