The Case:
On July 26, 2010, Brian Duff walked into the First National Bank of Staunton in Hamel, Illinois with a fake handgun and demanded money from a teller. He left the bank with more than $1,000 and fled in a vehicle. He was stopped a short time by a deputy who found the fake gun and the money in the car.
The Conviction:
On September 15, 2010, Duff pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery in federal court in the Southern District of Illinois.
The Sentence:
On Jan. 7, 2011, Duff was sentenced to 105 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release.
