Definition: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
Common Misspellings: afadavit
Examples:
The juror, who learned years after the trial, of the child abuse the criminal suffered, later stated in an affadavit that "John's lawyer made very little effort to defend him."
