On December 29, 2006, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was charged with suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of cocaine after he was stopped by police in Scottsdale, Arizona. According to police, Tyson was driving out of the parking lot of a nightclub when he almost hit a police car. The police then saw him wiping a white powder off the dashboard of his car.
After failing the field sobriety tests, police arrested Tyson and then discovered the suspected cocaine in his back pocket and in the car. Also in the police report, Tyson is quoted as saying he was an addict with a problem.
