Other Arrests Include:

  • In 1999 in Teaneck, New Jersey, police charged DMX with animal cruelty, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia after finding a loaded pistol, 13 pit bulls and six used crack pipes in his home. All charges were dropped after he agreed to make public service announcements for the Humane Society.
  • On June 27, 2003, DMX was arrested at the St. Kitts Music Festival in the Caribbean of Saint Kitts, for swearing during his performance despite organizer warnings that using obscentities on stage was against the law.
  • On June 24, 2004 DMX was held in cental lockup in Queens, New York after being arrested at Kennedy Airport's parking lot after he and another man were allegedly caught trying to steal a car then fighting with the car's owner. DMX alledgedly crashed through the parking-lot gate, shouting to the parking lot attendant that he was as an FBI agent. He then stopped another driver and tried to force him out of his car, also identifying himself as an FBI agent.

    DMX pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and reckless endangerment and was fined $1,000, was sentenced to a conditional discharge, had his license suspended for six months and had to forfeit his 1998 Ford Expedition SUV.

  • In December of 2004, just weeks after being given a "conditional sentence for his June 24th arrest, police clocked DMX driving over 100 mph in a 65 mph speed zone and arrested and charged him with various driving violations including driving with a suspended license (see June 24, 2004 arrest).
  • On April 15, 2005 DMX was charged with driving with a suspended license after his involvement in a a three-car collision on the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx. The rapper hit a car, pushing it into a police cruiser.
  • On November 18, 2005 he was given a 70-day jail sentence for his December 2004 arrest. His sentence was 10 more days than the original sentence because the rapper appeared in court late the previous day. He was sent to Rikers Island to serve out his sentence.
  • On December 2005, DMX pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license when arrested in April 15, 2005 after being involved in a three-car collision. He received and additional seven-day sentence to the 70-day sentence issued in November, 2005.
  • On December 30, 2005, DMX was released from prison early for good conduct after serving a month of his 70-day sentence.
