On February 24, 2003, Williams was arrested for assault and resisting arrest after he became rowdy and abusive at a bar in Charlotte, North Carolina. The bar manager called the police after Williams tried to punch him. Williams was at the bar participating in a fundraiser event for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
