In August 2003, Gotti was arrested for possession of ecstasy and Viagra while he was backstage at a R. Kelly concert in Oakland, California. Gotti was given a one-year deferred prosecution after he pleaded not guilty.
In January 2005, Gotti was charged with laundering more than $1 million in drug proceeds through his record label, the Inc. (formerly Murder Inc). He is expected to go to trial on October 17, 2005.
