Charles Anderson was convicted and sentenced to death for the Jan. 16, 1994, murder of Keinya Smith, his step-daughter. In 1992, authorities discovered that Anderson was sexually abusing Keinya. Anderson was charged with 11 counts of Attempted Capital Sexual Battery and was sentenced to probation.
Anderson was ordered to stay away from Keinya, but he ignored the order.
In 1994, after an angry confrontation with Keinya, Anderson waited for her to get off from work then ran her over with his car. Her body was found the next day at a fishing camp in the Everglades.
