In July 1994, Simpson was arrested in Los Angeles, and charged with the murder of his wife, Nicole Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. He was found not guilty in a highly publicized trial. He was later found liable for damages in the murders during a civil trial.
Five years before the murder of Nicole and Goldman, Simpson was arrested for beating his wife, paid a fine and did 200 hours of community service.
Nicole and Goldman were viciously attacked and butchered outside of Nicole's home. No one else was ever charged for the murders.
