Should Mary Winkler Get Custody?

Wednesday September 26, 2007
Usually when one parent is convicted of killing the other parent, the question of child custody for the surviving parent is a moot question because they are usually sent to prison until long after the children have become adults. But for Mary Winkler, who served only 67 days in jail for shooting her minister husband, child custody is a very important issue.

With Matthew Winkler's parents fighting to keep custody of the couple's three daughters, Mary Winkler faces what promises to be a tough court battle. What do you think? Should she get her daughters back or not?

Should Mary Winkler get custody of her daughters?

1. No, she killed their father.
2. No, but she should have visitation rights.
3. Yes, she is their mother.
