Phoenix Serial Killer DNA Evidence Questioned
A Judge ordered prosecutors to turn over DNA evidence to the defense for independent testing in Baseline Killer case in which Marc Goudeau is facing 94 charges and the possible death penalty if convicted. The requested DNA samples tie Goudeau to two sexual assaults in 2005, investigators claim.
Goudeau was arrested last September after months of investigation into the late-night attacks in the Phoenix area, which began near Baseline Road. Among other charges, he faces nine counts of first-degree murder, 15 counts of sexual assault, and 11 counts of kidnapping.
Goudeau's attorney, Corwin Townsend, for months has questioned the DNA testing that lead to Goudeau's arrest, since results of previous testing conflicted. One lab said the DNA was a match to Goudeau, but another lab did not make the link.
