CRIME MEDIA WATCH
Out of necessity, we had to submit to watching cable news coverage of the top breaking Crime and Punishment news stories this past week. The experience was informative, but underwhelming.
- There seems to be a credibility problem with a national news media that asks us to be on the look out (show name and photograph here) for a crazed Courthouse Killer one day, and coming back the next day calling him a mere "suspect."
- If Robert Blake is really broke and needs a job, we suggest that he sue the pants off CNN, Court TV, et. al. for continuing to slander him as a killer-- with sarcasm, malice and for profit -- in spite of his not guilty verdict. Take that to the bank.
- Insiders tell us that CNN's Headline News picked "Nancy Grace" as the name for it's new Prime Time show, because the name "Semi-Reality Court Coverage for Soap Opera-Watching Trailer Trash" was already trademarked by Greta Van Susteren.
- The Amber Alert system works. Ask Brian Nichols.
- Megan's Law could work better. Ask Mark Lunsford.
- Pain and sufferring sells. Ask Gloria Alred.
- Fred Graham, start wearing the pants again, please!
