Jeffrey MacDonald Files Parole Request
McDonald has been eligible for parole since 1991, but has refused to seek a parole because he would have to admit guilt and show remorse for the Feb. 17, 1970 murders in his Fort Bragg apartment.
"He doesn't have any kind of change of heart. He's going to try to vindicate himself," his attorney Tim Junkin told reporters. "He knows in his heart he's innocent and will always insist on that."
MacDonald, 61, is in federal prison in Cumberland, Maryland, serving three life terms for the slayings of his wife, Colette, 26, and daughters Kimberley, 6, and Kristen, 2. In 2002, he married longtime friend, Kathryn Kurichh.
"He has a fairly new wife. He has a lot of reasons to live for if he could get out of prison," Junkin said. "We have urged him to consider all his options as long as they're not inconsistent with his quest to prove his innocence."
Bob Stevenson, Colette's brother, will oppose the parole. "I don't want Jeffrey MacDonald ever to walk the streets again," said Stevenson, 65, who lives outside New York City. "I hope to do everything I can for the remainder of my life to see that he does not get out."
MacDonald's highly publicized case was the subject of the best-selling book, "Fatal Vision," and made-for-television mini series. MacDonald has always maintained that intruders stabbed and clubbed his family to death while one chanted, "Acid is groovy. Kill the pigs."

I saw the show of FATAL Vision..how could a father do this..I’m sure he’s guilty he will have to deal w/this the rest of his life and after life as well hopefully he will make the right decision before he dies..
The show Fatal Vision is just a tv movie, which does not necessarly mean that he did it. I don’t know for sure wheter he is quilty or not, because I don’t have all the evidence to make that decision. But to base your decision on a tv movie is stupid. Movies and tv shows are not really true or acturate.
Actually there is a very long profile about Jeffrey MacDonald which was written based on several sources, including court documents. It includes as a section based on what Mr. MacDonald says happened during the crime and through the court system. Pretty intereting reading. Jeffrey MacDonald Profile. I was a an Army CID Supevising Agent in 1970. I headed up a team that worked with the Suffolk County NY homocide div ision. Our task was to look in depth at the MacDonald family profiles as bothweee from thesamecommunity Patchoque. We were stopped by very intense pressure of a political nature by the Father in Law Kassab. The Suffolk PD dropped us like lepers. This Kassab was a heavy hitter and got the army to drop charges against CPT MacDonald. The point here is those Golden Opportunity moments whena cas eis still HOT were frittered away by the Kassab interference/ He later changed his mind and did niot support MacDonald. To my mind Mac D would be in thecan and not have this phony shoadow ofpresumed innocence clouding up the matter. Every day Mac D stays in is another daily victory for Justice,,,He done it, period.
