Malvo Gets 2nd Life Sentence
Prosecutor William Neely offered the plea deal to Malvo to avoid a trial, which he said could cost the Commonwealth $2 million. He is the only prosecutor in any of the jurisdictions in which Malvo and John Allen Muhammad are accused of shooting 13 people in 2002 who has been willing to plea bargain with either of the defendants.
Seawell, a mother of two from Spotsylvania County, was shot Oct. 4, 2002 as she loaded packages into her vehicle. She survived the attack. A week later, Kenneth Bridges, a Pennsylvania businessman, was shot and killed when he stopped to get gasoline.
Malvo and Muhammad are accused of a three-week shooting spree in 2002 in the Washington D.C. area in which 13 people were shot and 10 of them killed. Muhammad has already received a death sentence and Malvo a life sentence in trials in one jurisdiction.
Malvo and Muhammad still face charges in Alabama, Louisiana, Maryland, and Washington D.C.
