All charges in both states are misdemeanors.
Lohan was first charged in the early morning hours Thursday with third-degree assault after she reportedly struck another woman in the face after a confrontation in Club Avenue in Manhattan.
Punches Psychic in the Face
According to witnesses, Lohan punched 28-year-old Tiffany Eve Mitchell in the face after the two had words. Mitchell, owns a chain of psychic reading outlets in Florida.
Lohan, 26, was taken to Manhattan's 10th precinct at 4 a.m. and was released about four hours later.
Later in the day, Santa Monica police filed three misdemeanor charges against Lohan for lying to police about a auto crash on the Pacific Coast Highway in June. Lohan told police that she was a passenger in the vehicle when it crashed into a dump truck.
Lied About Crashing Porsche
Police uncovered evidence indicating that Lohan was actually driving the Porsche at the time of the collision. She was charged with lying to police, reckless driving and obstructing a police officer from performing duties.
Although Lohan is on unsupervised probation for her May 2011 conviction for stealing a $2,500 bracelet, she is still on probation and her current criminal charges could be cause to revoke that probation and send her to jail.
The mounting legal troubles comes during a week in which Lohan's performance in the Lifetime television movie "Liz & Dick" was panned by most critics, leaving her future as an actress in doubt.
