2 'Dougherty Gang' Siblings Plead Guilty

By October 2, 2012

Follow me on:

Two of the three siblings known as the "Dougherty Gang" have decided to take plea deals in their bank-robbing case in Georgia. Ryan Dougherty and Lee Grace Dougherty entered guilty pleas in a federal court in Valdosta.

All three siblings had previously pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Dylan Stanley-Dougherty is not scheduled to change his plea, court officials said. Dylan received the longest sentence of the three - 32 years in prison - when all three siblings entered guilty pleas in Colorado.

Ryan and Lee Grace are scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 17. Court records did not reveal the details of their plea agreements, and U.S. District Judge Hugh Lawson warned the pair that he is not bound by the plea agreement.

"They are not agreements between you and me," Lawson said.

The siblings robbed the bank in Valdosta shortly after their crime spree began earlier that day in August 2011 when they shot at a police car that was chasing them at nearly 100 MPH. During the robbery, Lee Grace and Dylan each fired one shot into the ceiling of the Certus Bank.

No date has been set for Dylan's trial.
