For a year now New Orleans has been following a policy of releasing the criminal records of slain victims along with the details of how they were killed. According to Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas, revealing a victim's rap sheet gives the public a better perspective of the killing and often involves similar backgrounds between the victim and the killer.
Kathryn White disagrees. Her son, age 25, was shot to death in what she believes was a case of mistaken identity. She feels that announcing a victim's criminal background does not do anyone any good and it only intensifies the pain that victim's loved ones must endure. White said her son was once arrested for having a small amount of marijuana.

announcing a victims criminal record after their death turns news into senseless gossip. they arent alive to defend themselves. and brings further pain to the survivors/loved ones
If they dont want it to be printed about them did they should not comit a crime.I say tell it all on them baby. And at end of each rap sheet say crime dont pay.Two men should not sleep in the same bed unless they want to be called fags
