The criminal known as the 'Barefoot Bandit' has been sentenced to 6-1/2 years in federal prison for a two-year crime spree that included stealing planes, boats and guns. Colton Harris-Moore will serve the federal sentence concurrently with the seven-year sentence he received in Washington state court. The difference is there is no parole available for federal prisoners as it is with state inmates.
Harris-Moore apologized to his victims before he was sentenced. U.S. Judge Richard Jones asked him what he would say to young people who saw him as a folk hero.
'I Want to Start a Company'
"I would say to younger people they should focus on their education, which is what I am doing right now," he said. "I want to start a company. I want to make a difference in this world, legally."
Earlier in the week, federal prosecutors released portions of emails Harris-Moore sent from jail in which he ridiculed law enforcement and prosecutors, but his defense attorneys said the excerpts were "cherry picked" to cast the defendant in the worse light.
The entire emails showed that Harris-Moore was sorry of what he had done and was grateful for the treatment he received in state court sentencing, his attorneys said.

His mother should be hanged, and then him.
wow, bitch
I agree with Jennifer. But instead of hanging, he should see good old fashioned hard labor. Mother and child are ignorant, remorseless and show no respect to law enforcement, abiding citizens and their hard earned property. He taunted us all, and his actions will no doubt contribute to fuel other delinquents of today’s failed society.
