Stupid Criminals: Not What It Was Cracked Up to Be

By , About.com Guide   January 17, 2012

Follow me on:

A Missouri woman found herself on the wrong end of an arrest after she called police to report a crime. It seems that 47-year-old Suzanne Basham was outraged when her neighborhood crack dealer sold her $40 worth of sugar instead of cocaine.

Furious, she called the police to report that she was ripped off.

According to police reports, Basham told officers that she would not stand for getting ripped off in a drug deal. She wanted the cops to go to her dealer's apartment, arrest him and get her money back.

The police did go to the suspected dealers apartment, but residents there said they were not selling any drugs and refused to let the cops inside.

But the police did find a crack pipe on Basham and arrested her for possession of drug paraphernalia.

One report said it was not Basham's first brush with the law. Somehow we think it probably won't be her last either.
