Authorities have arrested a Kansas man on burglary and theft charges who they call a "person of interest" in the death of a 14-year-old Great Bend girl whose body was found burned beyond recognition behind an asphalt plant. Adam Joseph Longoria was charged with stealing a vehicle from the paving company where Alicia DeBolt's body was found last week.

Longoria's first court appearance is scheduled for today.

Alicia disappeared Saturday, Aug. 20, after she failed to show up for a party. Her body was found three days later by an employee of the Venture Corp. behind some piles of gravel at the company's asphalt plant. Dental records had to be used to identify her because her body was so badly burned, police said.

Investigators have not said while they believe that Longoria is linked to her case, except that he was found driving a 2002 white Ford Explorer that was stolen from the Venture Corp.

Longoria has been charged with one count each of vehicle burglary and theft of property. He is being held in the Barton County jail. Authorities said that he has a long rap sheet in Kansas and Texas for crimes that include aggravated robbery, burglary, forgery, credit card abuse, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, escape from prison and evading arrest.

If the death penalty applies in Kansas and the family is willing, this monster has to die.
