The doctor who has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson has been allowed to keep his medical license for now, but has been ordered by a judge not to administer any heavy anesthetic such as propofol. Dr. Conrad Murray will be able to continue practicing medicine in California.

Jackson's death has been attributed to an overdose of propofol.

Meanwhile, Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor said it could take many months before the case is ready to go to trial. A preliminary hearing in the case has been rescheduled for August 23.

"I want to give this case priority," Judge Pastor said. "It is a very serious matter for Dr. Murray, for the Jackson family and the community at large."

Murray Keeps Medical License

Although Deputy District Attorney General Trina Saunders asked Judge Pastor to change a previous order by Judge Keith Schwartz refusing to suspend Murray's medical license, he refused to do so. Judge Pastor said he did not have the authority to overturn a ruling by one of his colleagues.

He told Saunders she could appeal his ruling. It was Judge Schwartz who ordered

Several members of Jackson's family attended the hearing including his father Joe, mother Katherine, sister LaToya and brothers Jermaine and Randy Jackson.

It is outrageous for Dr. Conrad Murray to be able to practice medicine, after what he did. He broke the law by administering a drug to Michael Jackson, that is only supposed to be used in hospitals… AND of course caused Michael Jackson’s death! He should not only have his licensed taken away from him, but he should also spend A LOT of time in prison!

I agree – it says a lot about the state of the justice system.
By the way I read the profile of a pedophile on this web site and I think it confuses rather than provides clarity. Think of the convicted pedophiles – many do not match up with what is on this site and are quite the opposite of what is written here.

A doctor charged in Michael Jackson’s death will keep his California Medical License after a judge ruled Monday he didn’t have the authority to revoke it. Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor declined a request by California authorities to suspend the ability of Dr. Conrad Murray to practice medicine in the State. Pastor said there were no circumstances that warranted revisiting the conditions of Murray’s bail.
