Police Release Sketch in Paula Sladewski Case

Tuesday February 2, 2010
North Miami Police have released a sketch of a man seen walking away from a nightclub with a former Playboy model whose body was later found burned beyond recognition in a trash dumpster. The suspect was the last person seen with Paula Sladewski who disappeared from Club Space on Jan. 3, the same day her body was found.

The suspect is described as a stocky, 6-0, light-skinned black male.

Sladewski was at the club celebrating New Year's with her boyfriend, Kevin Klym. The two got into an altercation and Klym was escorted out of the club by bouncers who would not allow him to go back inside. Sladewski remained in the club.

Caught on Videotape

Surveillance tape confirmed that Klym was escorted out of the club. The video later caught Sladewski (left) leaving the club around 7:21 a.m. with the man in the police sketch. Her body was found about 10 hours later in the dumpster. Her body was burned so badly that the coroner was not able to determine an exact cause of death.

Testing is pending on what substance was used to start the fire that burned Sladewski's body. Police are also testing several cars that may be linked to the case, but would give no further details.

A $15,000 reward has been offered in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
