Murder charges have been filed against the fugitive ex-husband of a swimsuit model found stuffed nude inside a suitcase inside a trash bin in Buena Park, California. Police said Jasmine Fiore's teeth and fingers had been removed before she was placed into the suitcase.Police are searching for Ryan Alexander Jenkins, a former reality television contestant, and Fiore's ex-husband.
According to investigators, Fiore and Jenkins checked into a San Diego hotel last Thursday, Aug. 13, and Jenkins checked out the next morning. But Fiore was not seen alive again. The two were married in a quickie Las Vegas wedding earlier this year.
Fiore's body was found in a trash dumpster on Saturday. Jenkins, who earlier reported Fiore missing, has not been seen or heard from since. Investigators believe he fled to Canada.
Crossed the Canadian Border?
Police believe Jenkins drove to Washington state, got into a speedboat and took it north to the border and walked into Canada. Jenkins is originally from Calgary.
"At this time, although we believe he crossed the border, we're not one hundred percent sure of that," U.S. Marshal Chief Inspector Thomas Hession. "There will be no stone unturned and we'll look under every rock for him."
Fiore previously modeled for Playboy, Las Vegas hotels and swimsuit calendars, but she was trying to change her career path. She earned a real estate license and, with a friend, started a physical training business.
Reality TV Contestant
Jenkins, 32, appeared in a VH1 television show, "Megan Wants a Millionaire." He was described on the show as an architect, real estate developer and investment banker who had a couple of million dollars. He graduated from Mount Royal College in 1999 has a license to fly commercial airplanes, according to his published resume.
Police found Jenkins' car and an empty boat trailer at a marina in Blaine, Washington. Witnesses said they saw a man matching Jenkins' description arriving by boat at Point Roberts, Washington at the tip of a peninsula that is only reachable by land from Canada.
Investigators believe Jenkins walked into Canadian Territory from the peninsula, by-passing usual border crossings. California police officially charged Jenkins with murder today.
