Dead also is Saleh Kazemi, a 20-year-old waitress McNair met at Dave & Buster's restaurant in Nashville.
McNair and Kazemi were found dead at a condominium that he rented with his friend Wayne Neeley. The condominium overlooks Titan Stadium. Their bodies were found by Neely.
McNair was found sitting in a chair with two gunshot wounds to his head and two in his chest. Kazemi was on the floor in front of McNair with a single gunshot in her head. At first, investigators did not find a gun at the scene because it was underneath Kazemi's body.
Police are trying to determine who owned the gun found at the scene, but they admitted that they are not seeking any other suspects in the case.
Played Through the Pain
McNair played quarterback in the NFL for 13 years, often overcoming injuries to continue to compete. He was chosen for the Pro Bowl four times and finished his career with 31,304 yards passing and 174 touchdowns.
He lead the Tennessee Titans and the Baltimore Ravens to the NFL playoffs, including two AFC championship games and a Super Bowl with the Titans.
In college, McNair attended Acorn State when he still holds Division I-AA records for career yards passing (14,496) and total offense (16,823). Injuries forced him into retirement in 2007.
