Former NFL Quarterback McNair Murdered

By July 6, 2009

Follow me on:

With four gunshot wounds to his head and chest, former NFL quarterback Steven McNair was definitely the victim of a murder, but they stopped short of calling the incident a murder-suicide, in spite of the fact his girlfriend was found at his feet dead from a single gunshot wound.

Dead also is Saleh Kazemi, a 20-year-old waitress McNair met at Dave & Buster's restaurant in Nashville.

McNair and Kazemi were found dead at a condominium that he rented with his friend Wayne Neeley. The condominium overlooks Titan Stadium. Their bodies were found by Neely.

McNair was found sitting in a chair with two gunshot wounds to his head and two in his chest. Kazemi was on the floor in front of McNair with a single gunshot in her head. At first, investigators did not find a gun at the scene because it was underneath Kazemi's body.

Police are trying to determine who owned the gun found at the scene, but they admitted that they are not seeking any other suspects in the case.

Played Through the Pain

McNair played quarterback in the NFL for 13 years, often overcoming injuries to continue to compete. He was chosen for the Pro Bowl four times and finished his career with 31,304 yards passing and 174 touchdowns.

He lead the Tennessee Titans and the Baltimore Ravens to the NFL playoffs, including two AFC championship games and a Super Bowl with the Titans.

In college, McNair attended Acorn State when he still holds Division I-AA records for career yards passing (14,496) and total offense (16,823). Injuries forced him into retirement in 2007.

I find this to be very fishy. I have heard that he was smitten with the girl-friend. I almost wonder if the wife found out and killed them both…maybe she staged it to look like a murder suicide.

A woman scorned is more serious than any man with a gun. The girlfriend could have very weel done the killing considering that McNair would never leave his family completely for her. Then on the other hand, the wife could have very well beleived that Steve would leave her family and sart over with a 20 year old. There are very good motives from both angels. I honestly dont beleive the wife would have done it because she has more to gaine by keeping him alive then killing him.

We donít know if Steve McNair was having an affair with this 20 year old girl, but even if he was, itís still no excuse to kill.

If a man had killed a woman who he found out was cheating on him & shot & killed her in a passion crime (2nd Degree Murder for which you spend many years in prison), itís unlikely that Nancy would excuse the manís deeds & would lecture such as ďfinding out your wife is having an affair doesnít excuse killing your wife.Ē We may never know why this 20 year old woman shot & killed Steve McNair.
