Guandique Indicted for Chandra Levy Murder

Thursday May 21, 2009
A 27-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting and killing federal intern Chandra Levy has been indicted on charges of kidnapping, first-degree sexual assault and first-degree murder. A District of Columbia grand jury returned a four-page indictment against Ingmar Guandique on Tuesday.

Levy, 24, disappeared in May 2001 after leaving her Washington D.C. apartment in jogging clothes.

Levy, originally from Modesto, California, had just completed an internship with the U.S. Bureau of Prisons when she disappeared. Her remains were found a year later in Rock Creek Park by a man walking his dog.

Attacks in Same Park

Guandique was serving a 10-year federal prison sentence in California for two other attacks in the same park where Levy's body was found. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 27.

The case made national headlines when Levy was linked romantically to former U.S. Rep. Gary Condit during the investigation into her disappearance. Condit was never named a suspect in the case.

Why has a man “accused of sexually assaulting and killing” not confessed yet? WATERBOARD HIM! Make him talk! Anyone saying that’s torture must love killers. WATERBOARD HIM!
