The FBI is seeking the public's help in trying to identify an unknown bank robber who is suspected in at least 17 armed bank robberies in three states. Authorities say the unknown robber, known as The Limping Bandit, has robbed banks in Florida, South Carolina and Alabama from 2007 to 2009.The robber reportedly walks with a distinct limp, according to bank employees.
The FBI said the limping bandit is very low key and remains quiet and discreet to the extent that other employees are usually not aware of the robbery. He uses a semiautomatic handgun, but he pulls it from his waistband or holds in underneath his shirt by his waist.

The Limping Bandit
Investigators believe the robber leaves the bank on foot, perhaps walking to a vehicle parked in a nearby parking lot. He wears a collared shirt, baseball cap and sunglasses. Sometimes he puts the sunglasses on the bill of his cap.
He is described as 5-8 to 6-0 tall and 190 to 250 pounds. He has strawberry blond or red hair. He has freckles.
